Andrew is a leading authority on Australian immigration law, and is recognised as one of Australia’s foremost corporate immigration lawyers by Who’s Who Legal.

Andrew began practicing immigration at Coopers and Lybrand (now Price WaterhouseCoopers)  in Sydney, while undertaking a Master of Migration Studies at Macquarie University.

Andrew established a migration practice at a Melbourne Law firm and later established a boutique practice in partnership with Michael Thornton, who sadly is no longer with us. A speech from his funeral is available.

Andrew is an Accredited Immigration Law Specialist by the Law Institute of Victoria, and is a member and committee member in the migration spheres of the Law Institute of Victoria. Previous roles include

  • National Examiner of the Migration Institute of Australia
  • National Vice President and Director of the Migration Institute of Australia
  • Victorian State President of the Migration Institute of Australia

Andrew has appeared before State and National Parliamentary committees on issues affecting immigration policy, and is a regular presenter to the migration profession at continuing legal education and national conferences. Andrew has taught immigration law at Victoria University and the Australian National University.

Before practicing in Immigration law, Andrew worked in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the New South Wales Parliament, providing a strong grounding in how government works. These positions were :

  • Reference Librarian, New South Wales Parliamentary Library
  • Licensed Court Recorder, Supreme Court of Victoria
